Marble
Surrounds
Marble
was very popular for larger houses in the 18th century, usually a very white
ornately carved
'statuary' marble. Marble surrounds became more
widespread and affordable in the 19th century, often using other colours of
marble such as rouge and grey. Many marble surrounds came across from France
and Belgium. We also have a number of simple marble surrounds which are not
